50% Grenache (1970s), 40% Syrah (1980s), 5% Mourvèdre, 5% Cinsault from stony clay-limestone soils, 33% machine harvested, 67% hand harvested, destemmed, 7-10 day vinification, cultured yeasts, pumping overs, vat raised 12-13 months, unfined, filtered, 13-15,000 b


steady red robe; the nose gives an aroma of plum and spice. The palate centres on stewed red berry fruit, with a fine grain texture and some spicing also in the mix. Drink with country dishes. It is a wine for the short-term. 13°. 13,000 b. €6. To 2017  Jun 2015

2007 ()

quite a full red robe; honey-caramel aroma with red fruits mixed in – a round shape to it. The palate is supple, but a little “straight" after the attack. A commercial, “there you go" style of wine – the fruit could hit out more. Fair length. To 2011. March 2009

2005 ()

bright, dark red; black cherry, a hint of griottes or soaked cherries in the aroma, and a little biscuity in back. Well-knit, well bound for a Côtes du Rhône – denotes a superior domaine. Will be rounder and more charming in 2008. Modern, clean fruit on the palate – with a cherry flavour that is still young and a little straight as a result. Good, piercing core to the fruit. Nice length. May drink with more variety and therefore interest around 2009, but carries its bright, crisp black fruit well now. Holds up well on Day 2 – a good sign. 13°. 2012-14 Aug 2007
