2016

good, bold pink robe, typical of 2016. The bouquet gives crisp, live redcurrant fruits that come bounding out, a little pear drop sweets. There is a sense of strawberry eau de vie, also lavender. The palate bears a neat roll of red fruits, a crisp compote with some inherent power that is revealed on the finish, a small dose of spirit there. Its strength demands food, Asiatic cuisine, for example – just a little context or camouflage to handle that, and tuck it in. It's rather bumpy between alcohol-balance. 14°. 28,000 b. GB£11.49. To 2020 May 2017

2014

off pink, slightly orange tinted robe. The nose gives a sturdy aroma of white strawberry jam, has density, and a simmered red fruits notion. The palate is right en route already – it holds gras richness with a spot of sweetness, and the texture is round, warm. Suited to white meats, cheese. Quite a Big Production. 13.5°. 70% Gren, 20% Cins, 5% Mourv, 3% Syr, 2% Clairette. To 2017  Jun 2015

2007 ()

pretty classic pink colour; has a soft, rather curved red stone fruit aroma, with a little kirsch that denotes its interior power. Has an easy, little red jam debut, with some grip and a firm second half. The fruit is over assertive and the finish rather dry. This is a bit demanding. June 2008

2006 ()

pale pink; soft scent of strawberry, a little jam in the aroma that is not very prolonged. Fleeting, floating wine – soft fruit that isn’t very deep. Easy style. Has some late acidity and dries towards the finish. Not very convincing – could be more thorough and sustained. June 2007 at the domaine. Previously – blind, at the Tavel tasting room the same day - *(*) hints of red in the pink robe; bonny, pleasant bouquet – with pretty red fruits, mainly strawberry. Tight, red fruit start, with more to come after a few months more, when it will be looser and more flowing. Sealed up on the finish. The fruit has dusty element in it, and there is some late asperity – the wine puckers up late on. Hmm. 13.5°. 2008-09 June 2007
