2016 ()

lucid red robe with a bright centre. The nose is close-knit, gives clear red cherry-redcurrant with a note of thyme and saltiness. It’s reserved, holding back. The palate is spritely, that aided by carbonic gas, with redcurrant fruits in a brisk delivery. It brings iin a little late note of toffee, gras richness with a pebbly texture on the close. There is a red wine shape here, with fresh gas wheels spinning underneath it. It may profit from some air, decanting, suggesting that it can give more. It ends hitting the line well, is broad on the finish. 13.5°. 25,000 b. 50% Gren, 25% Cins, Cari, Mourv, Syr, 25% Clair blanche, Picpoul, Bourb. €4.75. 2020-21 May 2017

fine red robe. The nose has a sparky quality, bright rays of sunny red fruit, licorice, lavender present. The palate rustles up red cherry and redcurrant fruits with a keen line of freshness and crisp, low-key tannin in the final stages. Its brightness works well, and the fruit is racy. Good, pacy Tavel with plenty of food options: soupe au pistou, cod, sea bass in fennel, also vegetarian pastas. It is STGT – a real child of the garrigue here. 14°. €4.70. 2018-19  May 2016

2012 ()

red-tinted robe. Brewed, fat, jelly fruited air that is almost buttery, soaked red cherries in it. The palate also gives an image of a plump globe. Syrah-style dark fruit lies at its centre, with a touch of tannin from that. Not a modern style rosé, more a one night wine. It is suited to Asiatic dishes, strong flavours, and is all on its very primary fruit over local nuances. Interesting. It ends on a tannic cluster, is smoky. Could have been acidified. To 2016. 50% Gren, 15% Cari, 11% Cins, 8% Syr/Mourv, 4% Picp/Bourb this year. May 2013

pale robe, orange-tinted. Softly humming nose, indistinct fruit that is maybe in a quince style for now, has an arrow shape, a light plum air as well. Tight-sided wine that is a wee bit metallic before moving into a more fleshy second half. Not entirely cohesive. Needs food – up to light spices. 12.5°. To end 2012-13 July 2011
