(barrel/casks) matt dark red hue. The nose has a baked, sweet air, a little huskiness in its red fruits. The fruit is thick. The palate bears compressed content with another baked angle on the late moments, only a small release of juice on the close. The flavour centres on red cherry fruit. The fact that the content recedes after half way is a concern, but there is momentum and it can likely fuse together with more time. The aftertaste is spicy. Feet on the ground, slightly pesky wine here. Decant it. 14°. 70% Gren, 30% Syr. 28 hl/ha this year. From 2020. 2029-30 Feb 2018

dark colour. The bouquet has an air of oily, layered black berry fruit, a sweet mildness, prune present. The palate isn’t very fresh, possesses red jam fruit, some pliant tannins. It needs 18 months to gather together. The finish is on tar, feels a little exerted. 14°. €15. From mid-2017. 2021-22 Dec 2015

2012

(barrel) good shiny dark red. The bouquet presents an appealing, bonny mix of red and black berry fruit, trails garrigue herbs as well, with rosemary present and fresh blackberry, the fruit good and clear. The palate is a winning ball of fruit with a tasty heart, a supple centre. Light touch, careful tannin is well inset. It runs with clear freedom. Good balance – this is a stylish, well made wine. From mid-2015. €25. 10,000 b. 2022-23  Dec 2013

rather severe tone to the aroma – cooked. Upright, rather distant palate that lacks comfortable fruit. Dries towards the finish. Has a limited future – drink now. July 2005

overtly round aroma in a medicine style. The palate is a mix of warm and slightly dry tannins – is at an indeterminate stage. Has a dry, meaty finale, and is still living fine. To 2009-10 March 2005

the bouquet has a curve of plum fruit in it, shapely. Has a “pretty”, scented flavour, with a game nature behind the perfumes. Is running along OK, its length in good shape, and is still punchy enough. To 2009. March 2005
