has a purple tinted, full red robe. The nose combines blackberry, blackberry leaf, with a dusty, herbes de Provence underlay and some licorice. It is nicely ripe and prolongs well. It’s not quite firing on all cylinders yet. The palate starts on a well-juiced, supple display of lightly spiced blackberry fruit. The tannins fit in well, and have a cosy munchability. This delivers a well rounded, very enjoyable Ventoux, open to all comers. Great with barbecues, sausages excellent, a very bonny w.o.w. Ventoux of lovely squeezy texture and gras. It is long, and has a refined sign-off. The Syrah plays a prominent, bustling role, via the blackberry flavour. 13.5°. 50,000 b. €2.50 export. 80% Gren, 20% Syr. Big V. To 2019 July 2016


medium red robe; smoky bacon, small black berries aroma with garrigue style dust behind. Has a supple, easy start, is inviting to drink – this is appealing and offers agile drinking. Red fruits prevail on the finish. There is a wee note of tannin to support it. 13.5°. To 2014 Feb 2012
