2012 ()

this comes from the second picking so there was greater ripeness of the stems. Steady red, good robe. The bouquet assembles violets, clear airs of dark cherry fruit, cloves, and has a smoky top. The attacks shows fine gras richness, and an oak-toffee input after half way. It is neatly tucked in, and persistent – it continues well, with assured length. From spring 2016 to allow a greater fruit display, away from the oak.13°. 2020-21  Apr 2015

dark, bright robe. The nose is marked by black cherry, violet airs, is round, and has a curvy ripeness, shows vanilla from its oak, is on reduction. The palate starts off on dark fruits that lead to spice, but it skips a beat before the finish. It ends tightly, on tar. It is inconsistent along the palate. Oak comes out more and more and standardises it. It is disappointing, having promised early on. 13.5°. Try decanting, but that may provoke the oak.  2017-18  Oct 2012

(cask, to be bottled in 3 weeks) full, shiny dark red robe. Oak is settling into the nose – there is elegant fruit in this, too. The fruit slides along the palate well, it is suave and well-shaped. The tannins are ripe, rather crisp, good. Promising wine that is elegant at heart. Good balance. From 2013. 2019-20 March 2011

½ bottle: the robe is still belle, has a red plum colour and legs are visible. The nose gives spice and clove airs, some oak, a neat layer of plum fruit within. The palate is fresh and nicely rolling – it gives a bonny autograph of clarity, flowers, tender fruit within, quiet grip. There are light powder tannins on the finish. This has aged very well. 13°. 2018-19  Apr 2015 Previously March 2011 **(*) shiny, full red. Meaty air, reductive wide and well-sustained. Beefy, muscular palate that is a bit heated and charged up. Holds speckly black fruit. The tannins are rather demanding. Oak tints on it – it isn`t yet in the zone. Drink from spring 2012. 13°. 2018-19 March 2011
