100% Syrah from stony clay-limestone soils, very late harvested eg 3rd week of November, whole bunch fermentation, 6 week vinification in new 600-litre oak casks, pumping overs, cap punchings to moisten but not break the marc, part vat emptying/refilling, aged new 600-litre oak casks 18-24 months, fined, filtered, 600-1,200 b


dark red, healthy looking robe. Reduction sits in quite a thick bouquet – licorice precedes a black jam air with a small note of violet. The palate has a prune-toffee and treacle mix, bears a solid gras richness, is quite rounbd, and provides some late spark. This is solid for the region, a bit static.
